The South African Central Applications Office provides a 2027 entry handbook and an online programme list. Its FAQs explain searching by programme, institution, faculty or campus and checking entry requirements against your examination type. Use cao.ac.za; do not confuse it with the similarly named application service in another country.

Match the code to your actual choice

Search for the course you want, then check its institution, campus and entry term. Copy the full programme code into your planning notes. A similar course name at another campus is not automatically the same choice.

Our suggested comparison table has a row for each option and columns for code, campus, qualification, duration and requirements. Add a final column for why the choice suits your goals. This helps you rank choices deliberately rather than relying on the order in which search results appear.

Check the programme’s own dates

Look at the individual programme information and current notices before treating an application as on time. Do not assume every listed programme shares a single closing date. Record the date and source alongside your choice.

If an entry requirement is unclear, contact the institution through its official details. Explain which examination type and results you hold. Keep the answer with your application notes so that you do not have to reconstruct it later.

Review before submission

Read your choices back against the programme list. Confirm that the sequence reflects what you prefer and that the intended intake is correct. Save your submitted choices and reference privately.

Meeting a published minimum requirement does not itself settle an admission outcome. Track the actual application and use institutional communications for any offer or additional instruction.
